IVF(In vitro fertilization)

IVF means In vitro Fertilization or test tube baby. 

It is the most effective form of treatment of infertility, that is, to help people who are unable to have a pregnancy. 

 

Not all patients with infertility need IVF. 

 

IVF involves:

- stimulation of the ovaries to produce more number of eggs

- Retrieving eggs from the woman's ovaries 

- insemination of eggs with partner's sperms or injection of sperm into egg(ICSI) 

- Culture of embryos 

- Transfer of embryo into woman's womb to help her get pregnant. 

 

IVF is indicated in specific cases of infertility.
